New Firefox Addons Style - The Gradient iBlu Style and Ideas for update 1.0.7

I have designed a site style for Firefox Addons. See this post for more details. It is now available on Userstyles.org. It is best used with either Gradient iCool or Gradient iBlu. The dark blue interface makes brosing for addons exciting. Screenshot below. Get it now!



The upcoming update, 1.0.7, has several advances. For Gradient iCool, the improvements include the new glassy button and tab box, new glassy title for tree boxes, etc. For Gradient iBlu, the improvements include recoloured tabs and buttons. For both themes, icons are improved and there is a new look for the progress bar. There is a new icon as well. Bugs such as white text on white background are fixed. Screenshots below.

Firefox Icon - Crack

Bored of the current Firefox icon? Change it in a few simple steps!

1. Right-click Firefox icon.
2. Choose properties.
3. Click change icon.
4. Click browse.
5. Browse for your icon. (It must be .ico format)
6. Success! You have changed the Firefox icon on destop or in start menu.

I've created a few compatible Firefox icons, which are available in white, blue, green and red. I hope you will like it. The icons are in .ico format and 128x128, which is compatible for the Vista large destop icon. There is also another icon with default colour set not included in this preview. [download]



If you would like to also change the Firefox icon inside Firefox, do this in few steps...

1. Go to the folder you installed Firefox in (e.g. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and then go to the subfolder chrome (e.g. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome\).
2. While in chrome, create a new subfolder called icons, and create another subfolder called default. (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\chrome\icons\default\)
3. Choose the icon and then place it in this folder and rename it to main-window.ico.
4. Restart Firefox.
5. You're done with beautiful Firefox icons.

Update: Gradient iCool 1.0.6!!

A major update for Gradient iCool has been available (but not publicised by Firefox Addons yet). This update includes the new scrollbar, mentioned a few days before, the new buttons and tab boxes, bug fixes... But what it doesn't include is the new Firefox Addons layout. It will be included in version 1.0.7, which will be published likely within a month.

Brand-New Firefox Add-ons Site, Only with Gradient Themes

A New Version of Gradient iBlu

Gradient iBlu, is publicised a couple of days before, and now I'm getting ready for a major update of the theme, which fixes a few bugs and has a new scrollbar. It is the version 1.0.7 of Gradient iBlu, and you can leave some comments here - e.g. if you like this scrollbar to be in Gradient iCool and the other themes.

Japan - Culture, Hi-Tech, ...

I am a bit fond of Japanese culture. Recently a found a website about Japanese culture, which is great. With knowledge of Japanese style, I can build better Firefox themes like Gradient iBlu. This site is really helpful for me learning Japanese stuff, especially those in Tokyo. Have a look if you have time.
I would continue my effort in making better theme for us, and later maybe white-background Japanese theme. I would really appreciate all of your support.

Gradient iBlu First Released!

A new theme, Gradient iBlu is first released. It is an elegant Firefox theme, but without the glassy effect in Gradient iCool, this makes a modern and Japanese style. If you do like it, download it here.

New Gradient xMas to Celebrate Christmas with Firefox

A new Firefox theme for Christmas, Gradient xMas, is in beta in Firefox Addons. To download, click here and sign in Firefox Addons. With dynamic snowflakes and the candy cane scroll bar and progress bar, this theme is definitely a good choice for decorating your Firefox browser this Christmas. Feel free to comment on this theme. I've found a few bugs in my theme. And since I'm not an experienced developer, can anyone give me some idea of how to fix the problems?

1. The bookmarks favicon in the menu bar is too wide to see.


2. The AiOS title text bcomes invisible when rolled over. The sidebar menu is also invisible.


3. The source text for the Download Statusbar appears unreadable.


Can any developers please help me solve the problems? Because I am not too good at CSS, and let's make a good theme together!

1.0.5 Beta 1 Released & Ideas for Gradient iCool 1.0.5 Wanted!!!

For the current version of 1.0.4, it isn't much a success due to the issue with Twitterfox and thus it is not publicised by the Firefox Addons team.

I'm currently working on the Gradient iCool 1.0.5, which is the next version, with a few bugs solved:
1. Compatibility with the All-in-One Toolbar
2. Invisibility in the search suggestions

There are a few features added as well:
1. Rich animations
2. New drop-down list
3. Removed border between the menu bar and the navigation bar.
4. More black backgrounds

This is going to become a highly-animated theme, with nice animations in the highlighted item in menu, also in search suggestions, URL bar suggestions, bookmarks bar (with AiOS), top panels (e.g. Option Panel), etc.
